Nismo steering rack bushings installed

The Build

Jessie dropped by to help me installed my bushings. Highly recommend having another person with a pry bar to lift the rack while you finesse the bushings in n out.

Surprisingly took about 40 min to button everything up and torqued.

Bushings looked alright for 203,xxx miles.

Waiting on some other stuff to come in so I can drive the car again. Stay tuned and thanks for reading.

Rocker arm stopper install

The Build

I suspected my valve cover to be leaking so I ordered a new gasket and thought might as well install some rocker arm stoppers. Went with Tomei just because.

Made a outline of where each nut and bolt came from.

That’s a pretty shotty looking heat shield.

The instructions told me to get rid of this baffle plate for s13 sr20s.

Took me awhile to put them in but it was my first rodeo.

Put the new gaskets on the valve cover and wiped up whatever gunk I could. Kinda miss working at Nissan because I coulda used their parts washer around this time.

But yeah buttoned up everything and torqued it to spec. Little closer to driving it again.

The dashboard melted but we still have the radio

The Build

Finally swapped out dashboards in the s13. Bought a uncracked dash off Craigslist’s back in 2014 before I even had the car ha. Yesterday decided to just do it, turned out to not be as difficult as I perceived. I’ve been slacking on getting shit done to it so I guess this helps get the ball rolling? Thanks to Dylan for coming thru and talking story while I did all the work lol nah he helped me angle in the new dash.

new used dash

Even riveted my vin plate to the new dash so I was stoked.

thanks for stopping by

Kaaz 2 way differential installed

The Build

Bought a used 2 way from my friend that I worked with back at Nissan. Installed it at after work. Side job saturdays!

It came out of his s14 so I had to put my s13 cover on. And the s14 cover went on my open diff so he could prolly get it welded later on.

Forgot to take a pic of the cover before I spent like a hour scraping off the old gasket and cleaning it with the parts washer.

Casey in the back doing his brakes on his g35 and I don’t know what Bryson’s doing lol

But yeah I did this January 21 2017 so it’s been about a year late that I’m posting this lol. It’s in though and does sick cookers!

Thanks for reading<3

Chase Bays Power Steering Line install S13

The Build

So I finally fixed my power steering leak!      It went out my last summer in 2015 and I just never bothered to fix it. The leak was coming from the high pressure line that connected to the rack and the pump.

Here’s a half ass side by side comparison:

But yeah had the opportunity to do it at work which made it heaps easier since the car is on lift. My friend Casey was nice enough to stay back to help out and keep me company.

So I removed the intercooler piping and whatever else was in the way.

Sorry for the lack of detailed pictures.

When I routed it like the pic of above it was kinking and the inlet pipe wouldn’t be able to fit. So Casey suggested we just flip it over:

It’s not really pretty but it works lol, I should’ve invested in Chase Bays swivel fittings..

But yeah I have power steering again!! So that’s good, next I hope I can put my LSD in soon!

Note* I noticed fluid seaping a little from the rack ;( Not sure if it’s leaking from the chase bays line or the oem line that we unbolted for clearance to tighten the new line. If it’s the chase bays one Teflon tape! LOL or if it’s the oem one then I guess I’ll have to buy another o-ring. I’ll update this post when I figure it out.

Update* Got it sorted out and put some pumblers tape around the threads of the AN fitting that goes into the rack.

Thank you again for reading!!

Z32 Fuel Filter Upgrade

The Build

Decided to change the fuel filter to see if it fixes this intermittent misfire. Didn’t work lel on to replacing something else.

Hose didn’t wanna come off so I just broke the brittle plastic on the filter. Wasn’t gonna use the hose either so I went to Autozone to get a new hose cut.

Side by side comparison below: Z32(left), stock replacement from FRAM(right)

First Silvia Republic Hawaii Meet 062815

Meets & Shows

When my friend told me about this meet about a week or two before it would take place, I scrambled to get my car street legal by then. When I was at my friends house, one of my friends lent me their spanners to adjust my coils to stock height so I could pass safety check. Not exactly legal because safety inspections require you to have stock struts. But some safety stations may overlook it or miss it if your car looks like stock height. Luckily for me they didn’t check if I had coilovers. They also didn’t notice my kouki tails which aren’t the original usdm tails 240s come with. Thank god. Alright enough back story. Me and a couple of friends decided to all go together to check out all those schassis’.

We decided to meet at the park near Dylan’s house and roll in together. Dylan’s girlfriend rode with him in his S14. While my two friends, Jahsten and Joemark rode with me.

While on our way to the meet we saw this mint fastback owned by an elderly man. Unfortunately he wasn’t planning on attending the meet. :

There were about 30-40 schassis’ there. Of course I was unable to get a picture of every single one. I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures and crap quality photos since these were all taken with my phone.

We came when there only about 6 other schassis’ and Joemark became a bit skeptical that, that was gonna be all the cars lol but within the next hour S13s and S14s started rolling in.

There were a handful of cars running MB Battles:

Then there people running stocks like me. For example there were a lot of S14 and S13 SEs, 350z stocks, even saw someone running Nissan hubcaps.

Saw a few with XXRs that night. This black fastback was just one of them.

This S13 coupe was 1 of 2 cars there that had the 180SX Kouki front bumper.

This white fastback looked relatively stock but when I took a closer look I realized that it was boosted. When I looked inside I saw an assortment of gauges. And when I walked to the front of the car, there was the intercooler I expected to see. Overall this is a very clean sleeper.

This 4 door R32 GTS on Work Emotion XD9s got the most attention at the meet. Of course this car attracted me the most because it was the first R32 and RHD drive car I’ve seen in person.
Some fastbacks running Work Meisters.

I had to take pics of the S14 on AVS Model 5s. Such a beautiful wheel.

Here’s some random pics now.

Dean and John met up with us at the meet earlier. We were pretty hungry and decided to go eat at Zippys down the road because the one a 100yd away was closed

After we fed our appetite we headed back west to Ewa Beach.

We decided to go on North South Road on our way back.

Christine getting some rollies of me while I get some of Dylan.

We parted ways with Dylan when we got near his house and yelled out our good byes.

Well that’s all folks, thank you for reading! Again I apologize for the lack of content.
